Let me put songs in your head Vol. 9

Last week was just a tad stressful, and more than a little tiring. Time to unwind with some good music. I'm feeling like some oldies. Click the Artist/Title to be whisked away to youtube to see a video of the song.

Lovin' Spoonful - Daydream - Pop rock from the 60's. The Lovin' Spoonful had many a good song, but this will always be my favorite. Simple, sweet, catchy as all get out.

Helen Forrest & Harry James Orchestra - I don't want to walk without you  - Sure the song's been covered by a ton of people, but there's just something about that classic sound.

Tom Leher - Oedipus Rex - Tom Leher was a pioneer in musical comedy. He set a bar for smart, satirical, tongue in cheek songs, that few today can challenge. Something I read the other day referenced Oedipus, and that was all it took to put the song in my head. Funny and wrong, enjoy.

  2. My mom was a big Lovin' Spoonful fan - she had their albums in her collection. I remember staring at the old album covers. For some reason I'm not sure of their sound and keep confusing them with The Dave Clark Five ... I'll need to check them out on Grooveshark.com

  3. Susan, Thank you, he seems to be doing better.

Ally, They had quite a few good songs. Summer in the City is my second favorite of theirs.

  4. I can honestly say the first one which I may have heard once or twice but the other two I have never heard of before in my life. Interesting mix of songs to listen to.
