A Christmas Message

I thought about writing some tongue in cheek speech about the real meaning of Christmas and how it's originally a pagan holiday that had nothing to do with Christ. But instead I've decided to go a more mature route.

364 days of the year, this site is geared towards entertainment. I try not to let my personal beliefs filter through, not because I'm ashamed of them, but simply because I want this to be an entertainment site. Still I figure half the world, one day a year, acknowledges Christ even if they don't intend to so on this one day here on my site, I choose to as well.

Jesus is the greatest gift the world has ever been given. Given in love and mercy and I am grateful for him and the sacrifice he gave. However far we get away from things with holiday stress and the different traditions and activities I participate in, I never want to forget that ultimately, that's what the day is about.

While I don't intend on discussing matters theological on any regular basis (again, I blog for entertainment) should anyone have any questions regarding faith and\or what I believe in, my email is on the site, feel free to drop me a line.

I wanted to keep this short so I'm going to close with my favorite passage in the bible:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. -John 1:1-5

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday!

  7. Hope your Christmas was fantastic!

Sentimental sincerity is sometimes fun - and I vote thumbs up on going for that rather than the making fun of the irony Christmas can be.

    So huzzah back at you.

  9. Very late in getting around to commenting on this post--sorry--but thanks for being willing to be serious and show us a side of yourself. I love that passage as well. And as long as we're sharing, my favorite passage is Ecclesiastes 7:25. Hope your holidays are, and were, enjoyable.

A favorite of mine as well. Thank you soooo much for doing this post, TS. I feel like I was given a gift in it.

I was just explaining to a friend that the "whys" of celebrating His birth this time of year, matter little to me.

    God bless!
