The Great Nashville Snow Storm of 2010: A Vlog

It snowed here in Tennessee for the first time this year. People always get a bit nuts down south when that happens and I thought it would be good to document the aftermath of the "storm". This is my first (sort of) vlog, so for any of you who can't watch for one reason or the other, just know this, it's probably for the best.

My brother was talking low so parts of what he said disappeared. Probably not the best of ideas to suddenly decide to do a video minutes after waking up. Lesson learned.

  1. I'm laughing at how monotone his voice is when he describes that horrible, devastating conditions. Thanks for showing me the snow. I don't think I'd see it here in CA otherwise. xo

  2. God. I am soooo glad that you lived through that horrible abomination. It is good to know that you will be keeping mankind thriving. :)

    Great vlog.

  3. Hope you stocked up with canned food?
    (Or have tasty neighbors.)

Glad you made it out okay. Here's to hoping the South recovers.

  6. Love your blair witch beginning. BTW...i was fortunate enough to be trapped on the highway for the Tenn blizzard of '91. You guys declared a state of emergency. Fun times.

  7. No, seriously, I was expecting the fall on ass too. I live in Florida so if it ever snows here, I'm stealing this idea and documenting the almost-certain chaos. :)

  8. This is sooo funny! Nice lame storm you got there. That ice did look a bit dangerous. Glad you didn't slip. Your bro is so serious, he made me laugh. I wonder if the shelves of the local supermarkets were bare!

  9. I want to say I admire your high-tech security system on your front door. I didn't think they actually made those anymore. I must say, I too was waiting the walking wipe-out...the horror, the horror.

  11. You, sir, are a survivor. What fortitude it must have taken for you not to just give up and throw in the towel (or frozen towel, if, you know, it was damp). You are an inspiration to us all, and a walking lesson in perseverance.

  12. hehe, with all due respect this is nothing (as i'm sure you're aware) to what the twin cities received this past weekend. i know you know about it because you tweeted your surprise at our metrodome collapsing. the snow near my house is piled up to about mid-way on most stop lights. i basically have to be half way through the intersection before i can even see around the damn snow.
my suggestion for you: put some kitty litter/sand in your trunk & plan on leaving your house 30 extra minutes early so you have time to scrape your windshields & give your car a chance to warm up. good luck!
    ps. excellent vlog!

  13. I was hoping a little old southern woman would walk by and tell you to put away the camera and focus on walking due to the danger.

You and your brother are a couple of cut-ups - awesome stuff.

  15. You're awesome and now I love you. I believe this to be the only appropriate reaction after seeing this. :p I especially loved "I tried to get in, but the lock was frozen." lol! I remember when it just rained ice one year and I had to find a way to scrap the sheets of ice off of my exes vehicle that had acumulated there to get to work. :p take that Tennessee, lol.

  16. The pink paint job is definitely the worst thing the truck has survived.

Rough life with all that snow. Hang in there.

  17. Snow? That's what they call that white stuff?
Even that amount would lead to chaos and anarchy where I live. Mass suicides...

Nice one! At least you weren't flooded out in this vlog...

  18. I agree with Pat, I was afraid you were going to be filming from the motel across the street! Have fun with the snow while it lasts, its 90 here in CA!
