The Adult Coloring Book Project

Before any of you clever witted ones can suggest it, no, I do not mean XXX when I say adult. I mean simply in terms of age. Nothing dirty and certainly nothing that pertains to any level of maturity either.

Awhile back it occurred to me that when coloring with kids, adults really have little options available to them. It's all well and good to color pictures alongside, but those books are made for kids. When I color, I want to color something that speaks to me on a more grown up level.

Thusly I have taken it upon myself to start the ACBP in the hope of providing some entertainment for the coloring connoisseurs of the world. Today I have two pages which you are all welcome to print out and color to your heart's delight. Periodically you can expect more entries for more coloring fun.

I admit I am handicapped by the fact that I suck at drawing, so I want to also open it up to any who would like to contribute their own pieces for the sake of coloring. If no one steps up, I shall continue with the good work myself. Because that's just the kind of guy I am.

  1. I like the carrot...oddly reminds me of myself in terms of unhealthy cravings....you probably don't know that the nun who taught us drawing used to dread me and my sketch incapable friends...
Am I the first commenter this time too??......

  14. I'm going to colour the carrot purple and outside the lines. I'm rebellious like that. Also tempted to send you drawings as long as I can do them in Paint as I am lazy, but I don't want to discourage your pictures.

    Nifty idea!

PS. Liking the new layout/header/changes, was like 'Whoaaaaa' when I returned to read and things were different.

  15. MOS, I do a lot of things in paint so that would be fine by me. If you do some though, just please save the image as a .png so it won't blur. And thanks about the new look. I had to do away with the old design as things were screwing up.

  17. Actually, I have been creating adult coloring pages for a while now.  They are very detailed and intricate and intended as an aid to meditation. Coloring slows you down. See my work at www.EmerlyeArts.com
    Good luck with your project.
