Blogiversary 2: Electric Boogaloo

Once again we've arrived at the anniversary of this here blog. Sure it came in limping this year, with one knee caved in; missing an arm and a few dozen teeth, but it's not what's on the outside that counts. Last year I did a graph to analyze how I felt the year had gone. I thought about doing a graph again this year and came up with this instead:

Okay, so it's not necessarily the greatest of graphs. You know, generally graphs tend to have numbers and months and all kinds of data really. Mine just says 'boom'. Oh, and I think that's fire where it's crashed harder than a stock market circa '29. Hmm... Was that really the best joke I could come up with? That's kind of depressing.

To those of you who got that last one and felt the pain that accompanied it but still secretly smiled, you're my people.

So it goes that in the last year I've had personal ups and downs in my life which have translated to this site in dips in quality and content. On the other hand, we've also got the makings of a grassroots political party that everyone seems to really be able to connect with on one level or another. The Non-Review's sophomore year may have been like many other sophomore efforts, not great but with some redeeming features, but at least it made it this far. More importantly I paid the rent up for another year on this old cardboard box which means, at the very least, I ain't (you English snobs just cringed didn't you?) going nowhere. Well, except hopefully on to a deluxe apartment (in the sky).

And now that I've put the Jefferson's theme in your head, I feel my work here is done.

Thanks to all of you who have read and continue to (even on occasion) stop by.

  1. Hey TS - congratulations on two years! You must've started blogging right after I did.
You know I'm always here no matter how big the explosion at the end of the graph.

  2. Forgot to add that the title of your post is awesome. Anytime I see Part II of anything, I always add Electric Boogaloo.

  3. Your blog didn't so much go "boom" as it did just land on me. (I was already down there.) (And on fire.) But I'm as happy as a window covered in post-it notes that you've renewed for another year.

And just so you know, a graph with no data on it is the best kind of graph. And the funniest.

  4. Happy blogiversary! I think the time you took off writing the blog only reminded us how much we needed your humor in our daily lives...geez, seemed like yesterday you were celebrating year one. Time flies. Thanks for entertaining us.

  6. @Alex, Thank you sir. That's hilarious that you do that too with the electric boogaloo. I've been waiting to have a cause to use it here. haha

@Rep, Sorry about lowering the boom on you. Huh, never thought I'd be able to use that expression so literally... Very picturesque metaphor. Love it.

@Camel, Thanks. You are far too kind.

@Belle, You may not have been following as long as some, but I've very much enjoyed your input and enjoyed, when I have the time for blog hopping, reading your blogs.

  7. Boy we all have had a year like that haven't we? But anyone who can make reference to the concept of the 'electrib boogaloo' isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

  9. I disagree. There's been no dip in quality at the non-review. I know - I've been enjoying this place for close to 2 years.
Happy blogiversary and I hope your new job is going well.

  10. Oh fuff! Your middle of the road stuff, is better than most people's best stuff. You are one of the first people I followed. I can't get on line every day now and comment, but I always try to catch up (like today). You've been my favorite blog as soon as I found it, and your blog remains my favorite today... That's a big deal, because I REALLY like quite a few blogs. It's also interesting that some of my other favorites commented on this post!
Oh yeah, believe it or not, I heard the song about two days ago!
