"Beside you," Jeff Barker speaks, his words edged with bitterness, "I'm a B-Side, beside you."
A quick look outside, then back to the glass in his hand. Fresh Ice. Scotch. Refilled for the unknown time.
"Maybe I set my sights too high. I always thought we'd be big stars, you and I. I was half right. You made it huge. I however was destined to be nothing more than an over glorified extra; minus the glory."
Tinkle of ice. Swirling around. Water pooling, mingling with the dissatisfaction and envy in his glass.
"Course, I don't hate you. How could I? All I've ever done is love you. Even still I don't think I could live without you. You're my best, and really, only friend."
He bends down to pet his beloved dog, and star of over 20 films. Known affectionately off screen as Barker's Beauty.
"Forgive me?" he asks as he ruffles her mane. A little yelp affirms the dog's undying affection.
"Good Beauty."
His dog became famous - funny!

This little story has a great beat, almost poem like! It was also quite interesting.
