Letters To Superheroes: Issue #11 - Dear Flash

Dear Barry,

By the time you read these lines... you know how the rest of that goes.

Truthfully I enjoyed spending time with you. At first everything was wonderful. You swept me up in a whirlwind of passion. The chocolates, the flowers, the quiet weekends away... all amazing. But we were just a couple weeks into our relationship when your asked me to move in with you. I'll admit, that I was so taken aback by the spontaneity that I found myself accepting.

So there we were, practically two strangers moving in together. I mean, I hardly knew anything about you, but my toothbrush was cozying up next to yours. After just a week you had us out shopping for a dog. A dog! A surrogate child for a surrogate relationship. If I'm using the word surrogate correctly... I think I am. Oh well, I don't have time to look it up.

Then yesterday you proposed to me. I'm all for spontaneity, but I have my limits. We've only been together for 6 weeks. I don't even know what your mother's name is. Okay, it's Nora, I did see that on the caller ID, but you get my point. Ultimately I guess what I'm saying is, you're just moving to fast for me.

That's why I'm moving out. Maybe if we slow things down for awhile, we can save our relationship, and get back together in the future.

Yours affectionately,
Iris

  5. With a reputation of being that quick, he may not find another relationship.
