Let me put songs in your head Vol. 13

I thought about doing some ghost or eerie theme for the 13th volume, but that would be a conformist thing to do, and I only conform to non-conformism. Which theoretically means I should do a 13th themed post, since non-conforming conformists can't be alike at all, lest they be accused of being conformist. But then that begs the question, if all non-conformists do as the conformists do so as not to conform to each other are they nothing more than conformists themselves, and hypocritical ones at that?

Whatever, I'm listening to music.

As always click the Artist\Title to see a video of the song.

Annuals - Brother - This is my second favorite song off an album that I find incredibly mixed. Some of their music is just amazing, but some of it is a little too random for my tastes. I do own the album this song is on, and I listen to about 3/4 of it. My favorite song "father" no one seems to have posted on youtube, so I went with this one. It starts out slow but really builds for a fantastic finish.

Ween - Transdermal Celebration - Ween has been around for, oh... ever. Some Most of their music is an acquired taste. Some of their lyrics is too bizarre for me. They'll never be a band I purchase a whole album for, but I do like quite a few of their songs. This one is pretty freaky, lyrically, musically, and vocally. Plus the video helps to set the tone nicely.

Chris Cornell - Preaching the End of the World - Soundgarden was awesome. An amazing group of talented musicians. Chris's solo stuff... hit and miss, and honestly, mostly miss. His range is amazing, and he's written a lot of great music, though usually with other people. Course I'm not the greatest fan of Audioslave either, just too generic. Lyrically he has two modes, either he's brilliant, or he's making one say WTF?  I own the album this song is from. I got it for three bucks used and that seems about the right price. There are about 5 great songs on it, and the rest is a giant bleh. However this song works on all the levels. Music is good, the words are clever, and the vocals are fun to sing along with. As for the video, it makes me laugh. It reminds me of an 80's video.

  1. Ween cracks me up! And Cornell's solo stuff is mostly a miss. I get into an argument in this topic with one of my friends and he cannot admit he is wrong. The Casino Royale song and this one is not so bad.

  2. I was watching the Chris Cornell video, and up until stuff started exploding, I was thinking, what was the brainstorming for this video like?

Video Producer - Ok Chris, what do you want in your video?

Chris - Well, I like to stand in front of things, and I just got this really cool Windows screensaver!
